Security Update: System Outages & Network Access Changes

Security Alert: October 21, 2026

The Security team is applying critical security patches across our environment. To protect our systems during this process, please note the following updates:

Certain internal tools (including forms.odu.edu and some faculty personal web pages) will temporarily require connection from on-campus networks or through the ODU VPN only.

Additionally, a small number of internal apps are being taken offline temporarily until further notice.

Microsoft Teams Microsoft Teams Calling

There is an issue when using Microsoft Teams to call non-ODU affiliations. The issue has been identified and a solution is being worked on.

  • Microsoft Teams calling has been fixed and is operating as normal. If you experience any issues, please contact the Help Desk at 757-683-3192

    Microsoft Teams Calling

    The 8x8 ODU Contact Center is down. We are working on the issue and will update when it is back up.

  • 8x8 contact center is working correctly.

  • We still have a Microsoft Teams calling outage for outbound or inbound calling. We are actively working to restore the outage. We do not have an estimated uptime.

  • The issue appears to be with Microsoft Teams calling and is being currently investigated.
